What is semi-permanent color?

A semi-permanent color contains no ammonia and deposits only. It does not require mixing with a developer and lasts about 4 to 8 shampoos. This type of color is used to blend gray or enhance natural color and for immediate use after a relaxer or perm service.

Can Jazzing be used as a temporary or a semi-permanent color?

Both. If you want a temporary result, process Jazzing 5 - 10 minutes without heat. For a semi-permanent result, process under a warm dryer up to 30 minutes.

How do I choose a Beautiful Collection semi-permanent color for a brighter result?

Semi-permanent colors deposit only, so they sometimes look deeper than the natural color. To brighten a shade, choose a color in a warm tone that is 1-2 Levels lighter than the natural color.

Should I shampoo the hair before or after I apply a semi-permanent color?

Since a semi-permanent color washes out of hair quicker, it is recommended to shampoo and towel dry the hair before the color application.

Can I use Jazzing and Beautiful Collection semi-permanent color immediately after a relaxer service?

Yes. However, it is recommended that you strand test every 5 minutes, and do not use with heat.

Is it possible to cover gray 100% with a semi-permanent color?

It is possible only if the client’s hair is very fine and very porous; however, true semi-permanents will blend or highlight the gray hair only for a short amount of time. If longer and more complete coverage is desired, you should use a long-lasting semi-permanent or permanent color.
